About Me

Sarah Thompson, RDN LDN

My background & practice philosophy

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) with licenses in both Kansas and Missouri.  I provide Telehealth or in-person appointments.  My practice is located in Leawood, Kansas at BeyondWell KC.  


As a weight-neutral RDN, practicing from a place of inclusiveness, I help people of all shapes and sizes find health and wellness. My nutrition recommendations provide an emphasis on behaviors rather than weight.  Together, we will work towards a healthy relationship with food and your body.


My approach it to utilize a food-based and lifestyle strategy that works for you.  Knowing that each client has a unique body and lifestyle, I customize my recommendations specific to your needs.  I will seek to build your confidence, inspire and motivate you.


My goal is that you will be able to reach your nutrition goals, while still enjoying all foods to the fullest.  I work collaboratively with you to improve your eating habits and overall health through sustainable lifestyle changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during the first session?

During the first session, I focus on learning more about you and your needs so that we can form a direction that puts you on a path to success. 


We will explore your current relationship with food, gather insights from your lived experience, and learn how I can support you in accomplishing your goals. 


My collaborative approach is to work with you on forming sustainable goals and habits. I hope to create a safe space in which you can release yourself of worries about judgements and feel freedom to be transparent.

I am happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have!


How do virtual sessions work?
All sessions use a secure, HIPPA compliant video platform. You can opt-in to receive reminders for sessions via text or email.


How long are sessions?

Initial sessions are typically 90 minutes in duration.
Follow up sessions are up to 55 minutes in duration.


How often will we meet?

Typically, I recommend starting sessions at weekly or biweekly intervals to help build rapport and create appropriate support to help you feel safe and empowered with changes that you are trying to make. Together we'll decide what works best for you.
